Summary of the year

In the beginning of the year, I learned about digital citizenship. I got learn what it meant to be a digital citizen. Being a digital citizen means that you must be aware of what you use the internet for. I learned that being a digital citizen means to avoid copyright, plagiarism and to be careful of who you meet online.

Later in the year, I learned how to use Pixlr. I learned how to photoshop my self into different places like Rome or Italy. I also learned how change people's facial and body features. I even got a chance to photoshop a celebrity. So I chose Donald Trump and Godzilla, and Walla! Trumpzilla!

After photoshopping, I learned black and white design. By drawing black and white design I learned about balance. And by balancing, I created my black and white masterpiece.  I think that balance taught me a yin-yang like style of art. By balancing I ended up with an even amount of black and white.

After black and white design, I continued work in art and learned how to draw still life. I learned that still life drawings could be drawn of anything. But in class, drew fruit under a light. First I started by drawing the fruit in the front and end with the ones in the back. After drawing the fruit, I applied the shadows of the fruit which made them a still-life masterpiece.

After two quarters of drawing and art, I returned to video production and editing. But this time my group and I worked on a short news reports for Fox News. Our groups news report was based on  a study upon teachers and students about college. The base of our study was to find out why people want to go to college or why they don't want to go. After our study was conducted, I learned how to edit and crop the video. I even learned how to add subtitles for each persons name aand affiliation.

Still life

This week in art, I learned how to "still-life draw". I learned that to draw a still-life drawing, you can use non-connecting lines. In my first still-life drawing I drew an apple with a lemon to it's left with an orange and a pear slightly behind it. Although I do not have an image of the fruit picture, I decided to apply my un-connected line skills to make my own drawing. Click HERE to see the picture I drew of "72" the model alien. Part 3: The Editing

(March 23/24)

Today we started editing our interviews. We realized that some of our interviews were too long so we had to crop them. This meant that we had to crop the interviewers asking the questions and we also had to crop out the student or teacher saying their name, school and occupation. By doing this we lost about 4 minutes total. However, while we were checking the time requirement for the whole story, we found that all 4 interviews would be too much. Finally, we cut 2 of the interviews. Now all we have to do is finish the editing process.

Part 2: The First Interviews

Part 2;

(March 9)
Today in class, we interviewed 2 students. One of the students told us he wants to go to an IV league school and become a doctor, while the other student told us he would be fine with any good college as long as he could grow up to be a lawyer.

(March 13)
Today we realized that there was too much background  noise in our interviews, so we decided to redo the interviews in the closet to make them a lot more sound-proof. However, one of the students from our previous interviews was absent, so we had to seek out a new one. And so we did, but we also got even better results from this newer student interview. This student told us he will stop his education at a high school diploma. His philosophy of college is basically that he thinks that its a waste of time.

Part 1: Research and questions

This is the research that has been done by me and my group members about our news story
(Should people go to college or not).

Interviews:

Administrators: ask them what convinced them to go to college and why
Students: ask them what they are going to do later in life and if they are going to go to college or not
People  who have succeeded in life without going to college
People who have gone  to college but hasn’t succeeded
People  who are in college right now
Mr. Roberto () <== We don't know his college
Rishabh (Harvard or Yale/Doctor) and William (Michigan State/Sports Related Job) @
Mr. Stanton () <== We don't know his college
@ = interview ready

Adult questions:
What college did you go to?
What convinced you to go to college?
Did you have a plan when in college?
How did college affect your success?
Should all students go to higher education?

Student questions:
Are you planning on going to college?
Why?
What job are you planning on doing?
Why?
What level of schooling did your parents complete?

These questions will be asked to these people during and prior to the interview. We will give interviewees time to think about their answers by giving them the questions beforehand.

Black And White Design

Final View:

For my final image, I added dots to the corners (half-ovals) to help my image pop out. However,  I thought that my triangles on the bottom were very misleading because they pointed in various directions. Although my balance was perfect, my craftsmanship could of used more of a touch. I can say this because only one of my puzzle pieces stands out, which is bad because I started off with one unique shape and never had any other unique shapes.

1/2

Weeks 1 and 2:

This week I learned about black and white design. I learned about how balance and color ties into  art, which also gave me an idea. I am probably going to use a puzzle background and zebra stripes.

This week, I started my rough draft. I started with a 3d puzzle piece with a vine connected to its right side. Today I started to develop a theme for my drawing. So next week I will give my final project a theme to help me finish the project.
